Here’s a new take on an old form. A little more elegant, and little more lyrical…perhaps. Just a little different. Sending this one over to my gallery on the Oregon coast, Touchstone Gallery. $75

Sage Green Handled Vase
Woodfired “Ice Queen” Vase
“Ice Queen” was woodfired at Digger Mtn Anagama Kiln in the Oregon Coast Range. Decoration on this piece came from wood ash flying through the kiln over several days of stoking wood. One of my favorites out of the kiln. Its subtle ash markings are quiet and not as dramatic as I’d hoped, but seem to fit its gently twisting feminine form just perfectly.
13.5x 8x 6.5 inches

Dog Treat Canister
Dog Treat Canister
This funky, organic shaped canister is meant for one lucky slightly “off-centered” dog lover.
Who keeps human cookies around in a canister anymore? Just don’t last that long–at least at our house… So, this bone handled cutie is probably best for doggie biscuits or treats, rawhides or anything else actually. See how quickly your four-legged friend learns something good is coming at the sound of the lid lifting off this ceramic piece. Good doggie!
Bone handle on the lid is made out of porcelain. The rest is high-fired stoneware, durable for many years of use. Food safe glaze, so if you want to hide your people cookies inside, they’ll be safe here.
11″ x 7″ x 5″
I make these every-once-and-awhile. Check out my Etsy shop to see if one is listed.
Small Creamer
Light Sage/Blue Creamer
This small pitcher with sage blue/green glaze will be happy to sit on your table and pour cream, soy sauce or syrup. It was cut out from one piece of clay and fit together on the back seam. The spiral decoration on both sides serves as the handle grips, meaning there is no pesky handle to try and fit into the dishwasher.
Looks lovely as a small vase for short stem posies, too.
Food safe glaze of course.
5″ tall x 4″ x 3.5″
Purchase from my Etsy Site.
Blushing Ceramic Vase
This porcelain cutie was fired at Hiroshi Ogawa’s woodfire kiln many moons ago but I’m just now really appreciating the subtle markings on it. A hint of pink shows in good light–marks made from copper fuming off other pots in the firing. Will be a nice windowsill vase for short stemmed blooms.
3.5″ tall – $35.
On sale now in my Etsy shop.
Ceramic Butter Dish
These will go nicely with the leaf plates. Dishwasher safe. $40-$45 depending on size.
Green and cream colored versions of this butter dish on my Etsy site.
Goddess Sculpture for your Garden
All the years I did the fairs I had much better luck with these at garden shows than art festivals. Was it because gardeners have more on their mind than skinny body images? Are gardeners more earthy and down with the idea that bountiful is beautiful?
In any event, a Garden Goddess will watch over the steady growth and well being of any flower bed in which she is placed. They are hollow with nowhere for freezing ice to collect, so can live outdoors year-round.
Stoneware with porcelain inlay. Custom order one of these $500-$650 depending on size. Please give me 6-8 weeks.
P.S. Once, a friend placed a container inside and used one for a huge centerpiece arrangement for a big dinner party. Wish I had a photo!
Happy Child Ceramic Sculpture
Happy Child wants to dance in your home or garden…
On my way to making 100 of these…my spotty records show over 70 have found homes.
Have had fantasies of contacting all of the families with these in their collections to have one big “family reunion” and then take a photo of them all in one big group. Alas, have been an admin person long enough to know that would be a nightmare of organizing.
Height 14″ to 20″ – $350 – $500
Specify carved heart or without.
